Two decisions, two horizons:
Morning go/no-go (~1 hr before): Cancel the day if ≥3 continuous storm hours are forecast within the class window; or if any hour breaches cold (air ≤20°F / feels-like ≤15°F, or ≤32°F when wet), wind (sustained >30 / gusts >40 mph), or snow.
Borderline (~2 continuous storm hrs): Hold & watch — decide during class.
During class (staff judgment, not this tool): Severe weather >2 hrs after start → case-by-case early pickup. Lightning/storm within 10 mi → hold off, monitor radar, resume 30 min after last strike.
Continues in: light rain/drizzle, cold above thresholds w/ proper clothing, heat (with protocol), mud/wet.
Heat is never a cancellation — protocol kicks in >92°F air or heat index >100°F.
No-shelter sites — Mont Belvieu & Sugar Land only: No indoor space, so severe weather (thunder, lightning, heavy storms) during class means cancel — unless it clears in time. If severe weather is forecast to clear within 90 minutes into the class, do a delayed start (up to 90 min). If it won't clear until later than 90 minutes into class, cancel the entire day.
